Finding the right company by searching for a name can be harder than you'd think. Many companies use several different names.
How does it work?
Start by searching for the legal company name, i.e. the name registered with the Swedish Tax Agency. There are, however, exceptions to be aware of:
  • Trade name – the name the company is known by but not officially registered under. For example, a hair salon might be registered under the owner's name but display a completely different name to the public.
  • Franchises – separate companies operating under the same name. Many McDonald's restaurants, for example, are officially registered under a different name.
💡
Search for the company on a map website like hitta.se, finn.no or maps.google.com to find the well-known name and, from there, the officially registered name.
Add a geographic location to the search for a better match, for example "Lime Gothenburg".
⚠️ There is no complete list of well-known names. Small or new companies may not be in our database yet. The data is sourced from Dun & Bradstreet.
