Prospect new customers with filters and lists

Lime Go is connected to Dun & Bradstreet, which means all Swedish and Norwegian companies are already in the system, even ones you've never spoken to. That's the foundation for prospecting: you don't have to build a register manually, and you can filter your way straight to the right companies.
This guide shows how you go from zero to an active calling list, step by step.

The Find view: your starting point

Click Find in the left-hand menu. This is where all prospecting work happens.
The view contains 1.8 million companies to filter through. That sounds overwhelming, but with the right combination of filters you'll quickly land on a manageable selection.
If you don't know which filters to use, there's an AI filtering feature in the view: write a prompt in plain language, for example "consulting companies in Stockholm with 10–50 employees", and Lime Go will suggest the filters for you.

Step 1: Filter for the right companies

Lime Go has filters for industry, revenue, number of employees, city, region, credit rating (Business plan), and much more. Start with the filters that matter most for your ideal customer.
A typical filtering flow:
  1. Choose an industry, for example "IT consulting"
  1. Set a revenue range, for example 30–70 million
  1. Add a geographic restriction, for example "Stockholm"
With the three filters above you might land on 146 results. That's a reasonable number for a calling list.
Combine with the relationship filter:
In the top left of the view you'll find relationship filtering. It's one of the most important filters because it separates your customers from your prospects:
  • No relationship — companies you've never had contact with
  • Prospect/Has contacted — companies you've spoken to but that aren't customers
  • Is customer — existing customers
If you want to find genuinely new prospects, choose "No relationship" and combine it with industry, size, and geography. If you want to work companies you already know, choose "Has contacted" and combine it with tags.

Step 2: Create a calling list

Once you have a selection you're happy with, click Create new list at the bottom right of the view.
Name the list something descriptive, for example "IT consultants Stockholm 30–70M" or "Using a competitor Q3 2025". Good naming makes it easier to follow up and compare lists with one another.
The list is now saved and you can start working it right away.
Practical advice about lists:
  • Keep the list to 50–70 companies. A well-planned, shorter list gives better results than one of 500 that nobody has the energy to get through.
  • The list is a static snapshot. It doesn't update automatically if you add a new filter. If you need a new selection, create a new list.
  • You can assign the list to one or more team members.

Step 3: Work through the list

Click on a company in the list. The company record opens on the right with available information from D&B: phone number, website, address. In the Grow plan and above, decision-makers and contact persons are also available.
Make contact and then log an outcome directly in the list. The outcomes you see are the ones you configured in settings (see Set up Lime Go from scratch, step 7). Choose the outcome that matches what happened:
  • "No answer" — you called but no one picked up
  • "Call again" — they asked you to call back
  • "Meeting booked" — positive final outcome, the deal begins
Work through the list from top to bottom. Any company that hasn't received a final outcome has the status "To be contacted" and will show up again the next time you open the list.

Tags and relationships: the important combination

Filtering by industry and size alone isn't enough. The real power of prospecting in Lime Go lies in combining the relationship filter with tags.
Examples of powerful combinations:
"Companies we've talked to that use a competitor" Relationship: Has contacted + Tag: Using a competitor → Create list "Work competitor customers"
"Customers we haven't talked to in a while" Relationship: Is customer + Sort by "Last contact date" (ascending) → Create list "Customer care – long overdue"
"Former customers whose contract has ended" Relationship: Has been customer + Tag: Contract ended → Create list "Win-back Q4"
"Customers in a specific segment" Relationship: Is customer + Tag: Machinery → Filter the customer portfolio for upselling
It's this kind of segmentation that makes Lime Go deliver more than an ordinary contact register. See the guide Tags and custom fields: build your segmentation for how to build a good tag structure.

The twin analysis: find more companies like your best customers

In the Find view there's a shortcut called "Base selection on a company", or twin analysis. You specify an existing customer you're happy with, and Lime Go extracts its characteristics — industry, revenue, number of employees, region — and suggests filters to find similar companies.
It's a good way to break out of old filter habits and find prospects you might not have thought of.

Export outcomes from a list

Once you're done with a list, you can export the statistics via the Export outcomes button. The export includes company name, contacted persons, responsible team member, and the outcome for each company. Use it to follow up on whether the list delivered results and which working methods performed best.

Next step

A calling list is a great way to find new customers, but the deal is created in the pipeline. When a company in the list becomes interested, move it to your pipeline and start driving the deal from there. Make sure to log all activities on the company record so the history builds up from the very first call.
